All our Pure Essential Oils, are made from crops grown by local farmers. Water is all we use or need to process the Pure Essential Oils with our special distillation process, NO chemicals, NO additives are ever used in the making of our Pure Essential Oils.

What is Allspice?

The Pimenta dioica tree is native to the Carribean and Central America. Allspice fruit is traditionally picked green and then sun dried. Once fully dried, allspice resembles giant brown peppercorns.  The name “allspice” was coined when this spice was first introduced in England and comes from the complex flavours and aromas which resemble black-pepper, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. The Arawak Indians of the Caribbean used allspice to cure and preserve meats, and called it ‘boucan’. Europeans who learned to cure meat with allspice were called ‘boucaniers’, hence the term ‘buccaneers’.

What is Nutmeg?

The nutmeg tree is native to the Banda Islands, a cluster of small volcanic islands in Indonesia historically known as the Spice Islands. Nutmeg isn’t really a nut, but is actually the kernel of an apricot-like fruit. Two spices come from the tree’s fruit, which splits into a scarlet outer membrane, mace, and an inner brown seed, nutmeg. Over a hundred years after its introduction to Grenada as an agricultural crop, the spice has become a proud part of the island nation’s identity. Even the national flag features a stylised split-open nutmeg fruit on its centre-left.

What is Lemongrass?

Lemongrass is a green and white, grass like plant with razor-shaped blades. It is grown in warm tropical climates all around the world. With its lemony scent, sweet flavour, and hint of rose aroma, lemongrass is an essential ingredient in Carribean, Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Indonesian cooking. Lemongrass grows wild in Indonesia, Indochina, and tropical Australia, and has been cultivated in Southeast Asia as a culinary herb and in India as a medicinal herb for thousands of years.
